Sir Syed Ahmad Khan
Sir Syed Ahmad Khan was a prominent Indian Muslim philosopher, social reformer, and educationist who played a key role in the modernization of Muslim society in India. He was born on October 17, 1817, in Delhi, India, and died on March 27, 1898, in Aligarh, India. Early Life and Education Sir Syed Ahmad Khan was born into a prominent Muslim family in Delhi, India. His father, Syed Muttaqi Muhammad, was a prominent courtier in the Mughal Empire and served as the prime minister of the Emperor Akbar II. Sir Syed Ahmad Khan received his early education at home and then went on to study at the Delhi College, where he learned Arabic, Persian, and Urdu.
